  5. I LOVE Brooklyn Tab! (Yes, enough to call them “Brooklyn Tab.”) I still treasure the memory of Carol Cymbala coming to CFBC and all of us learning to sing “God is Working” without any sheet music. So there.

I have a constantly-evolving list, as music helped me fall asleep all of last year in my off-campus abode. Here’s a sampling, in no particular order.

    1. Alexi Murdoch, “Orange Sky”
    2. Eastmountainsouth, “Hard Times”
    3. Nichole Nordeman, “I Am”
    4. Over the Rhine, “Spark”
    5. Joni Mitchell, “Both Sides Now”
    6. Elton John, “Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters”
    7. Damien Rice, “Amie”
    8. Derek Webb, “Wedding Dress”
    9. Jem, “Maybe I’m Amazed”
    10. Ryan Adams, “Desire”
    11. Sufjan Stevens, “To Be Alone With You”
    12. Iron & Wine, “Naked As We Came”

I’d like to note here that it’s unbelievable that no one has used Iron & Wine on their mixtapes yet — this is quintessential sleepy music!

    13. Ray LaMontagne, “Be Here Now”
    14. Stars, “Elevator Love Letter”

  6. Hannah – I did! and I agree, I love listening to Iron and Wine at night.
